Did some writing today (like pulling teeth for me) then finally got to some painting, even though I didn’t quite finish.
I can’t believe I have only one month left. How will I ever have time to paint all the paintings on my to-do list?

Varnished paintings in the morning. Had a drawing session in the afternoon with our model, Barbara Butterfield. She certainly doesn’t look 88! What an elegant and lovely woman.

The plein air group met at a lovely property on Harrington Sound this morning. The weather mostly cooperated, although we did get rained on once. Later it was laundry and taking care of business in St. George’s. Had a nice visit from Canadian friends.

The weather this morning was rainy, so all the Super Saturday activities came inside the museum. This included my plein air painting — is it plein air if it’s indoors? Interested parents and kids could see the painting in progress and check out my painting gear. (Everyone admires the egg carton palettes.) In the afternoon the weather was gorgeous, and Diana came to work on her watercolor. I did a quick paint sketch of her while she was painting.

Not a painting day, with the light changing and the sky undecided about what kind of day it was going to be. But drawing with the art group was great fun. I also unpacked some frames for drawings which I think will work nicely.

Today was beautiful day for painting. I painted a tree well-beloved by Bermudians who have climbed it as children. It is indeed a ficus, a rubber plant. Hard to believe that your house plant could become one of these one day!
I spent the afternoon at Masterworks, and will be there for the next two Thursday afternoons as well. So if you’d like to paint, watch, or have a really wonderful delicious Afternoon Tea (2-4pm) come to Homer’s Cafe on June 2 or June 9.
By the way, Masterworks Museum is having a Super Saturday this Saturday 10-2, with free admission and lots of activities for kids and adults. I’ll be there too! Come enjoy the museum and be creative!

Got a lot of non-painting stuff done. Then had a portrait date with Thomas Moore. He held still beautifully, but the light changed every few minutes. I’ll post his portrait soon. 🙂 I met lots of new faces this evening, including Flea and Valentino. See the heart on Valentino’s side? Talk about cute!

A National Holiday. A big parade in Hamilton. I sketched a little, but had more luck with the camera today.
Jill Amos Raine was one of the parade marshalls, congratulations!

A fun day. The IWC May Outing was a harbor cruise! So I got to be officially touristy and enjoyed seeing a side of Bermuda I had not yet seen. I am so enchanted by Bermuda architecture. Finished a still life, and had a really nice, quiet picnic tea on a nearby beach. Can’t go wrong with a day like today. It was beautiful.

Unsettled weather again in the morning, but it cleared up in the afternoon. A kind invitation to coffee saved me from being drenched. I debated what to paint. Decided on a still life. I’m still working on it…
