May 11 – Lunch with the IWC

(Another reminder! If you’re checking the blog from right here in Bermuda, you’re invited to a SLIDE PRESENTATION at the Masterworks Museum on Thursday evening! )

“Artist in Residence Slide Show Evening” May 12, 2011
Artist in Residence Jana Matusz from Arlington, Massachusetts will present a slide show of her artwork and Bermuda inspirations thus far from her April – June residency. Slide Show Evening – May 12, Doors Open 5:30, 6:00PM Start. $5 Entry fee, members free. Refreshments Served.

(Sorry I didn’t take photos at my lunch today.) I joined the International Women’s Club for a delicious lunch at Henry VIII. Thank you to all the group, and special thanks to  Annette who gave me a ride and who made me feel so welcome. I look forward to future outings with the Art Group and other IWC activities. What a wonderful gathering!

We’re still having very difficult weather for any painting, with strong winds and lots of rain showers. There are moments when it’s really beautiful, but five minutes later we’ll have a downpour.

These have not been the greatest painting days since it’s been extremely blustery and constantly changing. Wild weather! But there were times that the clouds were stunning.

For a really cool video of the demolition of the old Club Med, watch this!!!:

May 8 – Mother’s Day (thanks, Mom!)

A quiet day to do some revision, some scouting at Spittal Pond Nature Santuary, and some food shopping.

May 7 – painting at the farm

Clifford is a terrific model. It felt great to do a portrait, especially of Clifford.

May 6 – painting in St. George’s

The light at sunrise is wonderful during my morning walk, but too fleeting to paint, alas.

May 5 – more goats and cows

I think goats are adorable. Cows are extremely difficult to draw. Another fun day at the farm.

What a marvelous day. Thank you Caroldey, and thank you Clifford. Watch for much more from this locale. I am so happy, so inspired, and can’t wait to paint here! (Yes there will be pigs.)
